The voice that defined a generation, RaeLynn has filed for divorce from her 10-year long marriage with husband Josh Davis. Reportedly, the two first met at church back in 2012. Some detective-ness of the country singer’s beloved fans suggest that his heartbreaking decision hasn’t been in talks for long, and is recent.

The Instagram Post That Broke Hearts

The country singer broke the news herself on Instagram, sharing a personal statement with her followers. She called it a “difficult decision,” and asked for privacy as she and Josh navigate the next chapter separately. The post was met with an outpouring of support from fans, fellow musicians, and country music personalities who flooded the comments with optimism and encouragement.

Some fans noticed she was still wearing her wedding ring in photos posted just days before the announcement, suggesting the decision was recent and deeply personal.

RaeLynn actually filed for divorce from Josh Davis on June 8, 2026. Reason? Citing irreconcilable differences in documents filed in Davidson County Circuit Court, Nashville. The filing marks the official culmination of a relationship that began in 2014 and played out in the public eye for over a decade.

The paperwork was submitted by RaeLynn’s legal team, and as of now, no response has been filed by Josh’s side. The couple shares a four-year-old daughter, Daisy Rae, and RaeLynn’s filing includes a request to be named her primary residential parent. So yeah, this means custody is very much part of this process.

From Church Meet-Cutes To The Altar

The couple met at church back in 2012 and their connection grew slowly, RaeLynn reportedly reached out to him first on social media, and they later reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding before officially becoming a couple.

Three years after they met, Josh proposed, and it was like a straight-out-of-a-movie moment. He sent RaeLynn on a full scavenger hunt through Belmont University in Nashville, retracing meaningful spots from their relationship, before popping the question on October 12, 2015.

As heartwarming as this moment sounds, we have to face what is happening now and support the two in this tough phase.

They tied the knot in a barn wedding in Franklin, Tennessee, on February 27, 2016, surrounded by family, close friends, and a handful of country music insiders, including Gwen Stefani, now that’s notable.

Adding to their happy moments, RaeLynn has spoken about Josh as her anchor in countless interviews over the years, crediting him with keeping her grounded throughout the chaos of touring, recording, and the ups and downs that come with the music industry.

The Voice That Launched a Career

Taking a quick look at Lynn’s legendary career is a must.

RaeLynn first captured hearts as a contestant on The Voice Season 2 at just 17 years old, where she was mentored by Blake Shelton and made it to the Quarterfinals. Though she didn’t win, the exposure launched her as country music’s icon, and she signed a record deal shortly after.

Since then, she’s built a solid career with hits like “Boyfriend,” “Love Triangle,” and “God Made Girls,” the last of which became a certified solidarity anthem for young women across the country.

She’s toured, performed at festivals and built a loyal fanbase not just with her craft but also with the strength and resilience she carries as a woman and encourages others to do so as well.

What’s Next for RaeLynn?

As soon as the divorce is over, what good news is headed our way from RaeLynn? She has upcoming tour dates still on the calendar with no cancellations announced so far and fingers crossed nothing until the tour ends; also signaling that she intends to keep working despite the personal upheaval.

In the days before the announcement-that-broke-our-hearts, she’s been teasing new music on social media through cryptic posts in the studio, snippets of unreleased songs, and hints at a new album. So, let’s root for that.

In hindsight, fans are expecting her new album to feel slightly heavier, carrying all the baggage of what for now seems like a complicated divorce, and I’m hoping it gets over soon.

If there’s anything I know for sure about RaeLynn, it’s that she knows exactly how to turn her pain into music, and I can’t wait to blast in my headphones whatever she creates next.
