The trailer for Netflix’s My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3 is here and there’s a lot to discuss. The show that fans consider to be somewhat inspired by Prime’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, follows a coming-of-age love triangle between one girl (family friend) and two brothers. But this season, there’s more.

The Storyline

Jackie, a teenager, is told that her parents died in a crash and now she needs to shift with her family friends, the Walters. And that family is a big deal, and I’m referring to the number of members here. In lead we have Cole and Alex, the two brothers.

What follows is a classic love triangle with Jackie and Alex being together first, but the Season 2 finale saw her confess her feelings for Cole with Alex eavesdropping. But this is just the start of the Walters’ problems as they navigate practical family issues, financial downfall and complicated love angles.

Trailer Drops, Fans Lose It

Netflix released the Season 3 trailer on July 15, 2026, and the internet, especially me immediately went into overdrive. The trailer picks up right where Season 2 left us hanging: George Walter is rushed to the hospital, and Jackie, Cole, and Alex are left to deal with the fallout.

A New Love Triangle

Yes, another one.

Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) is still torn between brothers Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex (Ashby Gentry). But the trailer throws a wrench into the already complicated mix: Eliot, her uncle’s intern, arrives in Silver Falls and immediately catches Jackie’s attention. So it’s not a love triangle anymore, it’s a love square now.

The Family Is in Crisis

Perhaps the only heartbreaking detail of this storyline that simply makes me weep.

George Walter’s health scare hangs over the entire season. The trailer shows the family reeling, with Katherine holding things together and the boys stepping up in different ways. It’s not just about romance, the Walter family is facing real stakes.

I just hope it’s not like Susannah’s death in The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Alex Stays in the Rodeo

Despite what his mother wanted, Alex stays in the rodeo. Even Katherine tells him in the trailer, “No, but we also said that you couldn’t bronc ride and look how that turned out.”

Alex is back in the rodeo circuit, and the trailer hints at a growing distance between him and Jackie. After the emotional Season 2 finale, Alex seems to be burying himself in work, and Jackie is left wondering where she fits in his life. The whole situation kind of makes me think karma happened, but then again Jackie is so nice.

Cole Starts Racing

Perhaps I should mention that Katherine said the above dialogue after Alex asked her, “You okay with Cole racing?” It seems like Alex is not the only one burying himself in hobbies.

And Cole has always been into cars, so why not give it a shot? I mean, I definitely think these two brothers are getting their deserved character arcs rather than just chasing after the same girl.

A Fresh Face in Silver Falls

It doesn’t seem like Eliot is just a plot device. The trailer suggests he has his own story and his own reasons for being in town. Whether he’s a genuine good guy or another predicament Jackie doesn’t need remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: he’s not going anywhere and shares some history with her when she tells him, “Having you here is a reminder of my old life.”

Fan Theories

Who will we ship Jackie with this season? One of the biggest fan theories is that Jackie ends up with neither brother by the end of Season 3. The hint? Some fans think the final shot of the season will be Jackie packing her bags, leaving Silver Falls entirely. As for Eliot, he seems like an eye-candy distraction.

One of the most natural and obvious fan theories is that George Walter may not survive. And as obvious as it is, it will be even more gut wrenching. I truly hope for the opposite though, the heartbreak of not seeing Jackie and Cole together for another season will be enough to make me weep.

For me, Cole and Jackie are endgame just like Conrad and Belly (even the first letter of the guys’ name and ending sound of the girls’ name are the same). However, to know exactly what unfolds, be ready on August 6, 2026, and stream the third season on Netflix.
