Harlan Coben has done it again. His another hit series, I Will Find You, easily became Netflix’s and my most loved series. It has officially become the streaming platform’s biggest new series debut of 2026. While the audience can’t get enough of his creations, let’s take a deeper dive at this show.
A Record-Breaking Debut

This series has broken multiple records as its debut for Netflix. Coben’s latest adaptation, I Will Find You, is a thriller that amassed 24 million views in its first four days alone. A dream for anyone who wants to be the richest via the internet. The mind-blowing numbers don’t just stop here.
With some reports citing 31 to 36 million views in its second week, Harlan Coben himself shared on social media that the show had the biggest opening week for any Netflix series this year. Whatever the exact numbers are, one thing is solid: he’s finally getting the hype he deserves.
I Will Find You is based on Coben’s 2023 novel of the same name. The plot follows David Burroughs, a man serving a life sentence for the brutal murder of his three-years-old-son, yup, I’m already gasping.
Five years into his imprisonment, David’s former sister-in-law arrives with a photograph that moves worlds. It shows a young boy at an amusement park, and David is convinced it is his son, alive and well. With nothing left to lose, David stages a gutsy prison escape and sets out on a desperate cross-country mission to find his child and clear his name.
Who’s Harlan Coben?
The man behind the pen, Harlan Coben is an American mystery and thriller writer. He’s the #1 New York Times bestselling author of thirty five novels, including global hits like Fool Me Once, Tell No One, The Stranger, Run Away, and Win. His books have sold over 80 million copies worldwide and have ruled more than 40 languages.
Like his numbers, even he doesn’t stop here. What sets Coben apart is his incredible track record with screen adaptations. He has a unique, long standing partnership with Netflix which has produced multiple series based on his work, including some mentioned above with Fool Me Once becoming one of Netflix’s most watched series ever.
The Cast That Made It Happen

A good show can’t last on everyone’s screen for so long based on its story alone, it goes hand-in-hand with the cast.
The show boasts an impressive ensemble led by Sam Worthington as David Burroughs. Britt Lower shines as Rachel Mills, the sharp and determined journalist who becomes David’s ally. Milo Ventimiglia plays Hayden Payne, i.e., Rachel’s ex-boyfriend and trusted confidant.
The supporting cast also includes Chi McBride as Max Williams, Logan Browning as FBI Agent Sarah Greer, and Erin Richards as Cheryl Dreason.
Honestly, it’s no surprise that this work of Harlan is doing so well, that doesn’t mean we won’t celebrate it, or really get to the bottom of it and know what hooks us all so much. His novels are known to have: unfolding of dark secrets, layers of mystery and the fear of the end.
The show carves its own identity with sharp writing, emotional depth, and a breakneck pace. Blending a father’s relentless pursuit with moments of dark humor and genuine heart, this series has got it all. Along with Harlan as executive producer, showrunner Robert Hull crafted a miniseries that respects the source material while making smart choices for the screen.
Want More Like This?
If you’re new to the Harlan Coben fan club, and want more binge watching recommendations like this, don’t worry I got you.
From Coben’s world: I wouldn’t be a true fan if I didn’t start with his own work. Some strong suggestions here are Fool Me Once, Tell No One, and Run Away.
Other series: Getting straight into it, His & Hers (latest and underrated), One Of Us Is Lying, A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder (the latter two are also book-adaptations).
Note: These are all my personal recommendations and hail from the same genre.
The more I try not to oversell the compelling craft of this glorious writer, the more astounded I sound every time. I’ll never understand how it is humanly possible to deliver such great hits back-to-back. At last, I’ll just say, it’s Harlan Coben’s world and we’re just living in it.
Don’t forget I did Goddess’s work with my gatekept recommendations.
